About The Lesson
In this lesson, we shall discuss the simple life of Mahatma Gandhi and his contribution to
make India free. He was one of the greatest persons of India.
Mahatma Gandhi’s full name
was Mohan Das Karam Chand
Gandhi. He was a great man. He
was born on October 2, 1869 at
Porbandar in Gujarat. He loved his
country very much. He was always
ready to serve his motherland .
He was an honest man. He
always spoke the truth. He
suffered much for the freedom of
India. He made India free. He
believed in simple living and high
thinking. We call him ‘Bapu’. He
was known as the friend of the
poor. He always helped the poor.
He is known for the truth and non-violence . We shall always
remember him. We respect him very much.
He died on January 30, 1948.
We celebrate Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, every year.
