she gave the woodcutter his own axe.
Seeing his axe the woodcutter’s joy
knew no bounds. He cried out, “This
is my axe! This is my axe!” The
river Goddess was pleased at
the woodcutter’s honesty. She
gave him the golden and
the silver axe also.
