Some farmers were
working nearby. When

they heard the cry, they

came running towards

him. But, when they

reached there, they saw
no wolf.

“Where is the wolf?”
they asked. The boy

laughed and replied,

“There is no wolf. It was just a

joke.”

After some days, the farmers heard

the same cry, “Wolf! Wolf!”

When they reached there, they saw Mohan laughing. They were very

angry and went back to their work.

One day, a wolf came and really went after Mohan’s sheep. Mohan got

frightened and shouted for help. “Wolf! Wolf” he cried.

“Oh, the boy has already fooled us twice,” the farmers said.

“He shall not have another chance.”

Therefore, no one came to his help and the wolf carried one of the
sheep away.
